We field assembled three Autoclaves at Fredrickson, Washington. Two of them were 29 feet-4 inches diameter in the center and 24 feet-2 inches on the ends by 60 feet over all length, weighing approximatley 500 tons. The third Autoclave was 20 feet-10 inches diameter by 35 feet flange to flange, weighing 350 tons. Our crew assembled and hydro-tested the Autoclave Shells in the construction yard. We then moved them into the building with self propelled Dollies and set them on their permanent Foundations. Once in place, we installed the internals including Steam Coils, Piping and Insulation.
