Rebuild Precipitator

Scope of Work:

Remove the LAH System from Simpson Tacoma Kraft’s No. 4 Recovery Boiler, modify the building structural steel, demolished the #3 Recovery Boiler Equipment on top of the Boiler Building, and installed a new Extended Economizer including casing, ducting, equipment, feedwater piping and insulation. In addition to this work, PSF rebuilt the first two fields in both chambers of the No. 4 Precipitator including installation of a new drag chain system on the bottom of the two inlet fields.

Description:        

Our field crew mobilized to the Simpson Tacoma Kraft Mill Site in early September 2001 to prepare for the Rebuild. Pre-shutdown activities include opening the side and roof of the boiler building for access, installing structural steel where possible, and removing the abandoned equipment from the No. 3 Recovery Boiler which is on top of the building. The Shutdown took place during a twenty-one day shutdown in January 2001.
