Turn-a-round

Our field crew performed the FCC Regenerator Modifications and Reaction Section Maintenance during the February Turnaround at an Anacortes Refinery.

Scope of Work:

Remove the old Regenerator Head and replace it with a new shop fabricated Regenerator Head with Cyclones and Plenum, weighing 465,000 lbs; removal of existing internals; pre-assembly and installation of a new air distribution ring, fluffing air ring and other Equilon supplied components; installing a new shell insert plate; process piping; platforms and refractory repairs, and tie-ins to the new FCC Reactor. Platforms were fabricated in our Seattle shop, along with the process piping, pipe supports and miscellaneous structural steel. Under separate contract, we fabricated a new CO Boiler Stack and then removed the existing Stack and replaced it with the new one.

During the 34 day shutdown, we employed approximately 130 Boilermakers and close to 100 subcontract workers performing refractory, scaffolding, electrical, instrumentation, non-destructive examination and stress relieving services.
