Shop Fabricated Economizer

Shop fabricated a replacement Economizer for a recovery boiler at Georgia-Pacific’s Toledo, OR Pulp Mill. The Economizer consisted of upper and lower Headers and 378-2 inch OD tubes arranged in fifty-four rows of seven tubes, six in the body and a seventh in the back wall. The tubes are SA-192 seamless material with a minimum wall of 0.165 inch and ¼ inch by 2 inch SA36 fins. There are an additional 21-2½ inches OD crossover tube stub attachments to the upper header.  The Economizer was assembled in three sections for field installation with hanger rods and clevises.

PSF’s field crew installed the Economizer during an eleven day shutdown replacing the casing and insulation on the 3rd and the 4th floors.
