We fabricated the second through fifth Effects and Surface Condenser of a new Evaporator Set for a greenfield project at Castlegar, British Columbia. The units were fabricated in our Seattle shop. Heater sections were fabricated in 2 pieces each, the Vapor Domes in 3 pieces while the Surface Condenser was fabricated complete. The Heaters and Vapor were shipped to the site utilizing a Schnabel system between two trucks. The heaviest unit was 194,000 pounds. At an off-site location, we assembled both Vapor Domes and Heaters including stuffing the Tubes. Then we mobilized the main lift crane to the site, moved the Heater and Vapor Dome assemblies to the crane and set them on the Structural Steel.
