Shop Fabricated Steam Dryer

Shop fabricate and field erect one size J (488-7/32 inches outer diameter) Steam Dryer including a two stage Heat Exchanger Superheater and Pressure Vessel.

Our approach to this project was to perform all of the fabrication in our Seattle shop except the drilling of the tubes sheets. We received the tubesheet material in our Seattle shop where we fabricated and stress relieved the tubesheets. Then the tubesheets were shipped to our supplier for drilling. When complete, they were shipped back to our Seattle shop where we assembled the Superheater Sections. When complete, we stood them up, put them back into the oven and stress relieved them in the vertical position. Afterwards, we shipped them to the job site and set them into the vessel.
We used our portable stress relieving oven to ensure an even temperature was achieved during the stress relieving process to control distortion. The tube sheets were stress relieved in the vertical position with structural beams to support them.
